Understanding Impossibilities
Impossibilities refer to things that cannot be done. However, have you ever wanted to prove someone wrong by demonstrating that it can be accomplished? Or have you ever been that person, faced with a chance to try something, while everything inside you insists it’s impossible? Yet, you still dare to give it a try!
Early years
My last year of high school, I received a one-year scholarship to study a secretarial and management course at Carrington Institute of Technology (now UNITEC). Studies completed and I was ready to enter the workforce...woohoo!. My responsibility at home was to support my parents, so university was never an option. I was enthusiastic about pursuing my career in the CBD, spending 30 years working for various prominent law firms. What initially appeared unattainable became a reality as I navigated the corporate world as a minority Pasifika woman in the 1990s. Management and coworkers became lifelong friends and companions.

I never imagined university would be an option since finishing high school in the 1980s, but when it did, the feeling of impossibility was at the forefront of my mind...BUT with the right support, I discovered that I am a lifelong learner and I love studying...call me crazy, but I do! Possibilities become real when you challenge yourself to achieve what seems impossible. At the mature age of 45 I returned back to school, and by 53, I obtained numerous academic awards. Diploma, Bachelor's, and Master's... D.B.M. CHECK! What seemed impossible was now attainable! I'm not boasting, but when you fully commit to the challenge, the impossible begins to crumble!
The Key to Unlocking Possibilities
Possibilities refer to options you can choose in a particular situation. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who see your potential. These individuals enhance your opportunities and become lifelong companions. Whether you are working in a high-rise building in the CBD or furthering your education, who you surround yourself with is the key! When you opt for something that seems impossible, you will discover that the possibilities become endless!

Are you surrounded by like-minded individuals who recognize your potential, or do you feel stuck and find it difficult to progress? Why not challenge yourself and achieve the impossible, go on...give it a go...you just never know what you can achieve!

Wow! Powerful sis! Very inspiring and encouraging! There was no such word as can't in my vocabulary, there was always a way. Where there's a will there is a way! I just needed to find it and I was determined to do so. But of course it was in my strength and have now found the main source. But in saying this, it's not a easy simple path right. But it is possible. Thank you for the reminder to pause and reflect, and how important it is to be surrounded with like minded people. Very timely and thank you!
